Best sushi in Los Angeles
The big difference between a good restaurant and a great restaurant is the overall experience, the vibe and the attention to detail. When it’s more than just eating great food. When the dinner becomes a true experience.
We’ve all had sushi, but have you ever tried sushi the Omakase way? Someone once said "Sushi is an edible work of art” and the best way to experience that is by visiting an Omakase sushi restaurant.
I’m currently in Los Angeles and the other day I went out to have dinner in Beverly Hills. I had been invited by a friend to a sushi tasting course at Yasu, a traditional Omakase sushi bar, founded by the legendary Chef Yasu. And wow that was an amazing experience.
Dining at an Omakase restaurant is a culinary journey curated by the sushi chef. The phrase omakase literally means 'I leave it up to you' - in other words that you let the chef decide what you should eat.
As you take a seat, there's a sense of anticipation, knowing that each course will be a surprise. The chef skillfully prepares and presents a succession of dishes, showcasing the finest ingredients and precise techniques. The intimate setting allows for a direct interaction with the chef, fostering a personalized experience.
Omakase is not just a meal; it's a harmonious blend of flavors, textures, and artistry, creating a memorable and immersive dining adventure.
100% recommend it if you have the chance!
