At Sloanes - English Elegance with a french twist
Last year, a new Boutique Hotel called At Sloanes opened up in Chelsea, London, a perfect place for anyone wanting a taste of British elegance with a Parisian twist. The vibe is totally "fin de siècle" but with that soft touch of French flair. And you know how much I love France!
The 1890’s red brick building, tucked away close to Sloane Square doesn’t really look like a hotel from the outside, so arriving there makes you feel more like you’re coming home to your very own Victorian mansion than checking into a hotel. With just 30 unique rooms and suites, it has this exclusive, luxurious feel and definitely gives you that "I’m in on a secret" kind of vibe. The Costes group is behind it, so it has that signature, understated glamour. The interior designer Francois-Joseph Graf calls his style “quiet luxury”, and I’m all for it.
I recently went to check out their top-floor restaurant, which is such a hidden gem. It’s cozy but in a chic, laid-back way, perfect for both drinks and a nice dinner. The menu is "modern French," just like at their sister spot, Costes in Paris, and everything was so delicious!
So if you’re on the hunt for a London hotel (with a fab restaurant) that doesn’t feel like your typical luxury spot, At Sloanes is it. It’s that rare, under-the-radar gem where you feel like you’re in a movie, sharing a little secret with the other guests.
So let’s keep this our secret, shall we?
