Best Things to Do in Jakarta at Night: Top Attractions & Hidden Gems
You know I love traveling and earlier this year I had the pleasure of visiting one of the most exciting cities in Asia: Jakarta in Indonesia. I naturally made sure to visit a bunch of great restaurants, bars and clubs.
Here’s a few of my favourites:
Altitude Grill
Who doesn’t like to enjoy a nice evening with a proper view?
Altitude Grill is located in one of Jakarta’s tallest skyscrapers: the Plaza Office Tower. They’re known for their dry-aged meats coupled with Japanese flair. Me and my friends had scallops and salmon but what really got me going was the desserts. Pavlova.. and Tiramisu. That’s my favourite!
Black Owl
Black Owl is a club with the coolest entrance ever. It’s masquerading as an ordinary convenient store shop, and there’s no hint that this fun night club is hiding behind it. But when you get in you pass through an amazingly trippy corridor of light and find yourself in a buzzing club where you easily can party until daybreak.
Don’t miss it!
Kita
The Park Hyatt Hotel is located in central Jakarta and its interiors are designed by the famous architects at Conran & Partners, and as usual they’ve managed to create super cool interiors. There’s the view of course, but also a cosy feeling about it with lots of natural materials and a timeless design. They also worked closely with local artists to fill the interiors with great art. And you know I love art!
Their restaurant is called Kita and is helmed by Chef Takeumi Hiraoka and offers modern Japanese cuisine. The food there was sooo good.
Hope you get a chance to visit Jakarta too. It’s a really cool place and I hope to return there again soon!
