Bold, Empowering, and Sustainable: why I love this dress from Rat & Boa.

I recently did a desert fashion shoot and totally fell in love with this dress from Rat & Boa, the UK-based brand that’s redefining bold, feminine fashion.

This figure-skimming, one-shoulder maxi dress in tiramisu jersey is called Isamaya, and it’s the perfect embodiment of Rat & Boa’s signature style: daring cut-outs, striking hardware details, and a silhouette that turns heads. In their own words, it "reveals, conceals, and radiates" – and honestly, I couldn’t agree more.

Rat & Boa was founded by Valentina Muntoni and Stephanie Bennet, two friends with a shared vision: to create stunning clothing that inspires and empowers women. Their designs celebrate femininity in all its forms, and I’m obsessed with how they blend art, design, and confidence into each piece.

There’s so much to admire about Rat & Boa. Not only do they create gorgeous, statement-making dresses, but they also do so with a conscience. By incorporating more sustainable materials and responsible processes, they’re minimising their environmental impact. And it doesn’t stop there – their commitment to empowering women extends beyond their designs. From the women wearing their clothes to those in their supply chain, Rat & Boa have pledged their support by signing the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles.

As someone who strongly believes in gender equality, this is something I truly admire – bold fashion that makes a real impact. What’s not to love?
